大学排名的名次是一个学校的外在表象 ,大学文化沉淀与底蕴是一个学校的水平体现。文章以“2 0 0 3中国大学评价”和“2 0 0 3网大中国大学排行榜”前 30名大学的并集和中南大学个案为主要分析对象 ,论述了大学排名的名次与大学文化沉淀与底蕴之间成对应关系 ,从而证实了“大学排名的名次是大学文化沉淀与底蕴的标志”

The rating of a university is an indication of its external performance.The culture deposit of a university is the embodiment of its academic standard.My study objects are those universities that rank the top 30 on the 2003 Chinese University Appraisal or 2003 Netbig Chinese University Rankings,A university has its culture deposit when it has left its trace in the history of Chinese higher education development,possesses a certain amount of national research and talent cultivation bases and has cultivated many outstanding talents.This article studies those universities which rank the top 30 either on 2003 Chinese University Appraisal or on 2003 Netbig Chinese University Rankings,in particular Central South University.It maintains that the rating of a university corresponds to its culture deposit,therefore proving the proposition that the rating of a university is the indication of its culture deposit.
