Liu Bonian(1902-1990)was the third generation successor to the Shanghai school of painting.Liu was a clerk at the Shanghai Institute for the Study of Literature and History,a member of the Xiling Printing House and a professor and advisor at the Shanghai Jiaotong University.As a painter,Liu did not only carry forward the Yaolu school of painting,with calligraphy,poetry and brinting but also imitated the style of the song Dynasty.The article tells the life story Liu Bonian as a painter.
