摘要
本文通过对《推销员之死》和《进入黑夜的漫长旅程》的对比分析，深入阐述了现代社会与主流文化对现代悲剧人生的决定性作用。正是在美国梦主流文化的影响下，威利·洛曼一家和泰伦一家虽然几经努力，却始终无法找到自己的幸福，只能在无休止的家庭冲突中走向毁灭。
Through the analysis of Death of a Salesman and Long Day's Journey into the Night, this paper intends to show the decisive function of modern society and mainstream culture. It is under the influence of American dream and mainstream culture that the Lomans and the Tyrones can not find their happiness no matter how hard they try and thus have to accept their doom in endless conflicts of their families.
