Lingyan Temple: a Paradigm for Buddhism being Sinofied

位于山东济南市长清区的灵岩寺,始建于东晋,兴于北魏,盛于唐、宋、金、明,距今已有一千六百余年的历史,被誉为海内四大名刹,它的发展史与佛教中国化的发展史同步,故它不仅是中国著名的佛教文化圣地,也是佛教中国化的一个范例。

Lingyan Temple, lying in the Changqing District of Jinan City, Shandong province, with a histo-ry of more 1. 600 years, being listed as one of the four most famous Temples in the world, was foun ded in East Jin dynasty, developed in North Wei dynasty and prospered in the dynasties of Tang, Song, Jin and Ming, whose history is in phase with the history for Buddhism being sinofied.
