This paper provides an overview of how SARS has influenced the development of information technology in Chinese hospital. SARS has prompted Chinese hospitals to rethink their IT strategies to move into the era of implementing ″Filmless Paperless and Wireless″ hospital solution. There is a tendency to build electronic medical records EMR through a fully integrated system complying with national and international standards. Internet Data Warehouse and Short Message System technology are rapidly gaining acceptance as parts of the hospital IT strategy.
