On evolution of the system of corporation in modern China

外商在中国开设洋行是近代中国最早出现的股份公司。随后，中国人开始了自己创办公司的实践，先后经历了“官督商办”式股份公司、家族公司、控股公司等阶段。近代中国公司制演变过程的经验和教训，特别是历史上有关国有公司的实践，对我们今天进行国有企业公司制改造仍有着重要启示。

The foreign firms established by the foreign merchants is the earliest corporations in Modern China. Thereafter, the Chinese began to open their own corporations, which successively experienced the phases of' government - supervised and merchant - managed' corporations, family corporations, holding corpo- ration etc. From the analysis, we could draw some experience and lessons. Especially, it is very significant to us to reform the state-owned enterprises of today from the practice of the state-owned corporation in modem history.
