After “the Selected Poem Collection of Seven Poets”(七子诗选) edited by Mr. Shen Deqian was introduced to Japan during Qianlong’s reign in the Qing Dynesty, a Japanese got it and took a fancy to it. He wrote a letter to Mr. Shen Deqian and through him sent each of the seven poets one poem with admiration. This became a legend at that time. But information of this Japanese person, i.e. his official title and name, was recorded differently as “Head of Studying Department, Mozhenjia(默真迦)”or “National Premier, Gao Bing(高NFDF5)”.Through the analysis of the related documents from China and Japan, the final conclusion is drawn in this paper: this person was “Japanese Chancellor, Gao Yi(高彝)” mentioned by Mr. Shen Deqian in his Chronological Life revised by himself. Actually, he was a poet from Nagasaki.
