Clear Expression Replaced by Obscure Metaphors —On the Changes of the Aesthetic Style of Modernist Literature

西方文学从神话母体的孕育开始就保持着清晰表述的语言艺术传统,其依据是理性主义。现代主义文学因为非理性主义和现代语言学的启迪,开始使用晦涩隐喻的语言艺术创新,由此构成了西方现代主义文学的审美风格的变迁之一。

With rationalism as its basis, western literature has always been keeping a tradition to express clearly ever since mythology gave birth to it.However, modernist literature, because of non-rationalism and inpired by modern linguistics has begun to make use of obscure metaphors, thus consituting one of the changes of modernist literature in terms of aesthetic style.
