Regulate cross-strait trade and rationalize the NTD circulation

加强海峡两岸经贸往来,对促进直接"三通",推动祖国和平统一,具有现实的政治经济意义。针对当前两岸经贸活动以及贸易结算过程中出现的不规范问题,国家外汇管理局综合司组成两岸经贸往来外汇管理课题组专程考察了福建的福州连江黄岐港、漳州东山县和龙海市浯屿岛、厦门大嶝岛等4个地方,就闽台贸易、新台币流通等问题进行了调研。

It is of great political and economic significance to strengthen the economic and trade exchanges across the Taiwan Strait by promoting three direct links (mail, trade, and air and shipping services) and peaceful reunification. Forfurther exploration of the irregularities in cross-strait trade and settlement, a survey was made by a research team on forex management in cross-strait economic and trade exchanges from the General Affairs Department of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) at Lianjiang Huangqi Port in Fuzhou, Dongshan County in Zhangzhou, Wuyu lsland in Longhai and Dacheng lsland in Xiamen. This report covers such issues as characteristics of trade between Fujian and Taiwan, and the circulation of the New Taiwan Dollar (NTD).
