Tang Dynasty’ Zhen-guan Rule period, the prosperous times in Chinese history, has been studied by historians at home and abroad, but seldom studied systematically by philosophers. The paper analyzes the philosophy of Zhen-guan Rule period and Confucianism in the pre-Qin dynasty in view of their relationships. On the one hand, by lots of evidence and references, it is found that Zhen-guan Rule just put pre-Qin dynasty’ Confucianism ideas into practices and achieved great success. On the other hand, it is suggested that Confucianism at that period also has its value and defects judged by Zhen-guan Rule period’s successful practice and its lessons. Then, we come to a conclusion that Zhen-guan rule period reflects the fact that every dynasty rises at first and falls at last.
