辞书修订是辞书编纂工作的延续 ,《新华字典》的多次修订为汉语辞书的修订工作提供了许多宝贵经验。主要表现在 :通过修订及时反映和体现国家的语文政策和规范标准、适应群众语文生活的需求、保持原书基本风格特色及规模框架 ;修订者必须熟悉原书的内容、体例、风格特点 ;修订前必须制订详细具体的修订方案。

The revision of Chinese dictionary is a continuation of dictionary compilation. Several times revisions of Xinhua Dictionary have provided many valuable suggestions for revising Chinese dictionary, which are manifested as follows: reflect and embody language polices and standards of the state through the revision of dictionaries; keep abreast of the times and meet the needs of the masses; keep the original basic style, characteristics, scale and framework; revisers supposed to be familiar with the content, stylistic rules and layout of the original version; a detailed plan required before revision.
