摘要
研究表明 ,不同的语言理据会同时对语言形式产生作用。这时会出现两种情况 :一是不同的理据作用的方向一致 ,语言形式相应变化 ;二是理据之间相互竞争 ,对语言施加不同的影响 ,竞争的结果必有胜负 ,语言形式随胜者而变化。如缩略的理据是省力 ,但同时有可能受象似理据影响 ,此时两种理据作用一致 ,殊途同归。本文探讨的理据冲突包括(1)象似理据和语音理据的冲突 ,(2 )省力理据与形态理据 (或节律理据 )的冲突及 (3)象似理据和省力理据的冲突。
Research has shown that variation of linguistic forms is motivated in various ways. If two or more motivations are at work, they will work either in the same or opposite direction. If it is the latter case, the linguistic form will shape according to the stronger motivation. Conjunction reduction is an example of harmonious competitions at work. This paper examines cases of conflicts that take place between: (1)iconic and phonetic motivations,(2)economic and morphological motivations, and (3)iconic and economic motivations.
