摘要 分析、比较《更庄严的大厦》中主要人物德博拉、萨拉以及西蒙与奥尼尔之母埃拉、奥尼尔之妻卡洛特和奥尼尔本人的关系。剧中人与奥尼尔本人及其家人存在着巨大的相似性 :他们的各种行为都受某种性心理 (即俄狄浦斯情结 )的驱使 ,他们的外表、性格及经历也都与剧中人相似。奥尼尔本人及其家人是剧中主要人物的原形。剧本是面镜子 ,镜中人则是剧作家本人。 Through close and detailed comparisons between the main characters and O'Neill's family members (including O'Neill hismelf), it is seen that O'Neill and his family members were also motivated by Oedipus complex in their lives, just as their counterparts in the play. There exist great similarities between their outer appearances, personalities and experiences. O'Neill'l mother, Ella, his wife, Carlotta, and O'Neil himeself are the archetypes of Deborah, Sara and Simon. This play is a mirror, while Eugene O'Neill himself is the man in the mirror.
