Cross the 38th Parallel——The Political and Mili tary Considerations and the Determination Of the aim of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea

本文针对以往研究中存在的一些疑问,通过探讨中国参战目标的复杂性、志愿军作战方针的变化过程及其原因、盟国关系对中国决策的影响等问题,说明志愿军越过三八线作战是权宜之计,政治考虑是导致该决定的主要因素。

In accordance with the doubts in the former studies, this article analyzes the complicated conditions under which the aim of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea was determined, the process of changing the fighting principle of the Chinese People's Volunteers and the influences of the relations among allied countries on China s decision. The author concluded that the Chinese People's Volunteers crossing the 38th Parallel was an expedient measure, political consideration was its main decisive factor.
