Abstract: Zhou lianggong's Shuying expounds the significance and means to research into linguistics and graphonomy and discusses the philology works concerned and their editions. It supplies historal data which are connected with Chinese and Chinese characters. It also analyses and Summarises some of the questions concerning languages and lexicology. It reflects the novel fashion in late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty.
