On Chinese and Japanese Idioms in Four Characters

中日文中存在着大量的四字熟语.加强对四字熟语的研究,可以极大地提高两国语言文化交流中的翻译质量和水平,对两国文化的理解与沟通具有十分重要的意义.本文仅就同形和形态类似的四字熟语进行粗浅的分析和研究,并对日语中特有四字熟语在翻译时应注意的问题提出一些看法.

There are as many colloquialisms in Japanese as are in Chinese. To study these colloquialisms can greatly improve the work of translation in cross-cultural communication between Japan and China and has a significance on mutual understanding between the two nations. This article makes brief analyses on the Japanese colloquialisms that have the same or similar forms with their Chinese counterparts. Suggestions are given on how to translate the colloquialism from Japanese to Chinese.
