A Brief Discussion of Philosophical Thinking of Laozi and Zhuangzi and an Outlook on Sustainable Development

我国古代老庄的“天人合一”、“知止”等观念及其辩证法思想有一定合理成分,对人类社会的可持续发展有一些启示:人与自然是天地宇宙这一整体的一部分,人必须与自然和谐发展;人与自然都处在不断发展变化中,人类应遵循适度增长的原则。

There is something reasonable in 'Nature and Man Two combined into one' and 'enough to stop', which were proposed by Laozi and Zhuangzi in Ancient China. Social sustainable development can, in part, gain enlightment from their dialectical thinking. That is, Man and Nature are part of the whole universe, Hence, Man should be in harmony with Nature; As Man and Nature are still developing, so the development of humen beings should be based on Appropriate Measure Princi-ple.
