文化全球化是一个从一体化走向多元共生的民族文化的过程。民族文化的更新与传播以对语言的整合为台阶。英语作为国际通用语,目前在世界上具有实际的霸权地位。但是,也正是通过英语的中介,双向文化交流才成为可能。因此,新时期英语教学的主要目的是培养学习者使用英语进行交际的能力,培养具备将两种文化"传译"能力的完整的"文化人",以实现绝对意义上的文化多元。

Cultural globalization is a process from Europe - centered unification to multi - national pluralization. National culture is renewed and spread by way of language. As a global language, English is now playing a hegemonic role in the world. But it also serves as a bridge between western and Chinese culture. The goal of present English -teaching is to enhance the learners' communicative competence, that is, the competence of interpreting both Chinese and western cultures. Hence, the real cultural pluralization can be realized.
