The combination of Mobile IP and MPLS is a hotspot issue. In this paper, The authors propose a novel network architecture for MultiProtocol Label Switch(MPLS) supporting mobile IP quality of service (QoS) and present a collaboration handoff mechanism between Layer 2 and Layer 3, and study the route optimization in mobile IP over MPLS networks.
