浅谈数词表达的不确定现象

Uncertainty of Numerals in Literature

用数量词进行精确的表达是人类对社会认识的一大进步,但随着社会的发展有的数量词的起始意义(primarymeaning)出现了分化现象引申出新的意义,在一些成语,谚语,诗歌和其它的文学作品中它们已经难于反映原始的确切数量含义了。也就是说数词在语言运用中具有多功能:一方面,它们可表示纯数目,具有精确性的特点;另一方面又可言其"多",具有不确定的特点;在一些文学作品中正是数词的不确定性或气势磅礴,或意犹未尽,使作品充满情趣。

The preciseness of the numerals is the progress of human society. But with the development of the society, some extended meanings of numerals have appeared in some literatures, which have multi-functions, on one hand, the preciseness, and on the other hand, the 'many' referring to uncertainty. It is the uncertainty,the majestic vigor and the endless meaning that endowed works with sentiment.
