缎类丝织物是中国丝绸的一个重要品种类别,也是民国时期应用最为广泛的品种之一。民国年间,由于新原料的采用和织机的改进,大量新型缎类织物被开发出来,而传统的缎类织物在新产品的冲击下,虽市场不断丢失,但也出现了一些创新。

Satin is an important category in China silk. During Republic of China (1912-1949),it was one of the most fashionable fabrics.Because of the application of new materials and improvement of looms, plenty of new kinds of satin had been manufactured. For the shock of new products,the traditional satin lost the market continuously, while some innovations had been done.
