国内翻译界在翻译研究和翻译理论认识上的误区

On the Misconceptions in Translation Studies and Theories in Our Country

我国翻译界在对翻译研究和翻译理论的认识上存在着三个误区,一是把对“怎么译”的探讨理解为翻译研究的全部;二是对翻译理论的实用主义态度,只看到理论的指导作用,却看不到理论的认识作用;三是片面强调翻译理论或翻译研究的“中国特色”、“自成体系”,忽视了中外翻译理论的共通性。我们应该尽快走出这几个误区,促进翻译研究的健康发展,让人们充分认识到翻译和翻译研究的价值和意义。

In China,our understandingof translationstudiesandtranslationtheoryis affectedby threemisconceptions.First,discussionabout'how to translate'is takenas thebe-allandend-allof translationstudies.Second,pragmatismprevailsin ourattitudetowardstranslationtheory,theconsequenceof whichis thatwe seeonlythepracticalbutnottheepistemological functionof translationtheory.Third,one-sidedattentionis paidto the'Chinesecharacteristics'of translationstudiesin Chinaandto thestudyof Chinesetranslationtheoriesas a'self-containedsystem'of itsown,thusignoringthehomogeneity of Chineseandforeigntranslationtheories.Theauthorstressestheneedto overcomethesemisconceptionsso as to promote thehealthydevelopmentof translationstudiesandbringto lightthefullvalueandsignificanceof translationandtranslation studies.
