The Effects of Implicit Self-esteem and Explicit Self-esteem on Self-handicapping

采用实验和问卷法研究了内隐自尊与外显自尊对自我妨碍的影响。结果表明 :内隐自尊和外显自尊对自我妨碍有不同的影响。内隐自尊对行动式自我妨碍和自陈式自我妨碍均有影响 ,外显自尊与性别在自陈式自我妨碍上有显著的交互作用 。

This study explored the effects of implicit self-estee m and explicit self-esteem on self-handicapping by means of both experimental methods and qu estionn aires. The following results were obtained: implicit self-esteem and explicit s e lf-esteem had different influence on self-handicapping. Implicit self-esteem had effects on both behavioral self-handicapping and self-reported self-handicap pin g. There was an interaction between explicit self-esteem and gender in self-re po rted self-handicapping; men with high explicit self-esteem were more likely to do self-reported self-handicapping.
