Nowadays programmable logic controllers (PLC) have wide application in papermarking, steel milling, materials handling and other fields. Based upon the experience of maintaining portal crane mechanisms with PLC control, this paper analyses some common failures, serves as references to the technical and electrical maintainance personnels.
