从文学传统看,"鞋者谐也",鞋有性的意味。当代作家在作品中赋予鞋更为丰富的文化意义。冯骥才的《三寸金莲》中的鞋,是文化批判的证明;刘庆邦的《鞋》与红柯《靴子》中的鞋,是柔情的证明;而苏童的《回力牌球鞋》与朱文颖的《高跟鞋》是时尚的证明;而韩少功的《鞋癖》则是历史的证明。
