The Mercury laser system is a scalable driver for rep-rate inertial fusion energy. The performance goals include 10% electrical efficiency at 10Hz and 100J at 1047nm with a 2~10 ns pulse length. This laser is an off-axis 4-pass gas-cooled diode-pumped Yb:S-FAP amplifier system based on image relaying. Recent progresses of the Mercury laser system are introduced.
