摘要
广告作为传播信息的手段,其用词往往超出英语语言本身的约束。广告人员充分发挥创新才能,创造了很多生动形象的新词,并且多次重复使用同一个词或巧妙地借用外来词,大量地使用祈使句和口语、简单句和省略句、疑问句、条件句,使得广告更具感情色彩和感染力。
Advertisement is a means of conveying information and the words in advertisement are often beyond their normal usage. Advertisers bring their creative talent into play and create many vivid words by repetition and borrowing of words. The frequent use of imperative, simple, elliptic, interrogative sentences and so on makes the advertisement more colorful and more impressive.
