Some Problems Encountered in the Design of Shapotou Water Control Project

沙坡头水利枢纽位于宁夏中卫黄河干流上 ,是以灌溉和发电为主的综合利用工程 ,也是我国西部开发的重点水利工程。重点介绍设计如何解决若干挑战性问题 ,如导流明渠设计、基础处理、电站排沙措施、左岸台地的渗流控制以及泄洪闸的运行方式。

Shapotou Water Control Project is located at the main stream of the Ye llow River in Zhongwei County of Ningxia, which is a multipurpose project ma inly for irrigation and power generation. It is also one of the most important proje cts in Western Development in China. In this article, the main efforts are laid on the design of how to solve some challenging problems such as design of the op en-cut diversion channel, measures applied for foundation treatment and desiltat ion for this hydropower station, seepage flow control on the left bank terrace and the operating mode of the flood sluice, etc.
