A method for the quantitative determination of emodin in Niuhuang Jiedu Pilulae was developed by double wavelenth HPTLC densitometricscanning. Through sample scanning, stability investigation and recovertests, it was found that the suggested method was precise and accurate, and the results of determination reliable.
