试论当代西方社会分层与政治生活的关系

On the Relationship between the Stratification and Political Life in the Modern Western Society

战后西方社会分层与其政治生活之间有着复杂的关系。政治系统功能的扩大对劳动力的质和量提出了新的要求 ,以此为契机而壮大起来的中产阶级使西方社会发生了结构性变化 ,新的社会分层使工人阶级放弃了激进意识而形成保守意识。因此 ,从某种意义上讲 ,西方政治生活的主题也逐渐丧失了革命色彩。

The relationship between the stratification of the post war western society and its political life is very complex.The Western sociologists think that,the enlargement of function of the political system challenges the workers both in quality and in quantity,because of which,the middle class develops,and the social structure changes as a result.What's more,the new social stratification causes the working class to give up its radical consciousness and to form a conservative one.And therefore, the theme of the western political life loses its revolutionary color in some way.
