Primary Exploration in Deng Xiao-ping’s Theory of Ideological Education

邓小平把青年思想政治工作看作是关乎党和国家命运的重大问题,要求全党全团高度重视。他认为,青年思想政治工作要把理想、信念、道德教育作为核心内容,必须坚持党的领导,围绕党的中心工作来展开,要切合青年实际,解决青年面临的问题。这对于我们研究和把握青年思想政治工作规律,切实取得青年思想政治工作成效具有重大的现实意义。

Deng Xiao-ping took the ideological education of youth as an issue critical to the fate of the communist party and the country, and asked the party and the youth league as a whole to pay highly concentrating attention on it. According to his views, instillation of ideal, belief, and morals must be taken as the kernel content of ideological education, and such an education should be developed around focus work of the party. He also indicated that ideological education has to meet the actual needs of youth and solve the problems youth faced. All of these views are extremely significant in reality to our study and mastering of the laws for ideological education of youth, and to fulfillment of its actual effects.
