China's modernization was launched and carried out in a new age of reform and opening. It is a great undertaking of constructing socialism with Chinese characteristics and it is the application and practice of Deng Xiaoping's theory about modernization. It has formed five characteristics in its developing process, which gives expression to the essence of China-type modernization.
