核心期刊的产生,曾为图书馆精选期刊、指导读者阅读提供过有益的参考。如今把核心期刊作为衡量学术论文成果以及学术水平高低的"标尺"是欠科学的,特别是把它视为评聘高级职称的必备条件,无休止地过分夸大它的作用,其负面影响是多方面的,必须给予足够的重视。真正意义上的核心期刊急需加以整合、完善,使其有利于推进学术期刊整体精品战略的有效实施。

Central journals have been useful for libraries and readers. But it is not scientific to regard central journals as the standards of measuring academic levels, esp. as a condition of higher technical or professional titles. The Influence is negative and needs our attention. Central journals should be improved to promote academic development.
