The Handan Steel’s No.5 BF failed to smoothly operate for a long time. In the past one and half years, operation status did not essentially improve although various regulation measures had been taken at the upper and lower part of the furnace. However, by lowering the stock line and overcoming sticking effects in the middle and lower part of the furnace, the operation status of furnace quickly became better, as a good result, the productivity increased considerably.
