Seeking the Power to Fly:On Cao Wenxuan's Viewpoints and Works of Children's Literature

本文通过对曹文轩的儿童文学观及其儿童小说的深入分析后认为,曹文轩在树立中国当代儿童文学的某种典范的同时也暴露出他的创作局限,他对童年生命本质的忽视、对儿童文学美学特质的忽略使他的文本最终无法达到人性幽微的深处。

Based on an in-depth analysis of Cao Wenxuan's viewpoints and works of children's literature, this paper maintains that, while establishing a model for contemporary Chinese children's literature, Cao's writing exposes his literary limitations. His ignorance of the essence of children's life and the aesthetical nature of children's literature has prevented his works from arriving at the depth of human nature.
