求真务实 兴国之本

On Being Realistic and Pragmatic

胡锦涛同志号召全党要大力弘扬求真务实精神 ,大兴求真务实之风。他明确指出 ,求真务实是辩证唯物主义和历史唯物主义一以贯之的科学精神 ,是我们党的思想路线的核心内容 ,也是党的优良传统和共产党人应该具备的政治品格 ,是建党兴国之本。当前 ,大力弘扬求真务实精神 ,对于确保我国改革开放和现代化建设事业的顺利进行 ,具有重大意义。贯彻落实求真务实精神 ,关键是深刻理解和把握胡锦涛提出的“四求四务。”其中的“四求” ,为解决“四务”指明了方向 ;而“四务”既关系到我国改革发展稳定大局的关键问题 ,又是我们党长期执政的重要经验总结。只要我们把求真务实精神落实到全面建设小康社会的实践中 ,我国现代化建设的宏伟目标就一定能够实现。

President Hu calls for the whole Party to be realistic and pragmatic. Realism and pragmatism attach great importance to themselves, for it plays the k ey role in forming our political idea as well as in setting up the structure of our Party. At present, it does mean much to be realistic and pragmatic to the fl ow of course of opening up and modernization. To be realistic and pragmatic, we should understand “four kinds of aims and action” deeply and accurately. “fou r k inds of aims ”is the direction of “four kinds of action”, while “four kinds of a ction” is a crucial problem in our reform, development and stability. Only if w e be realistic and pragmatic in building a well-off society in all aspects, can w e achieve the grand goal of modernization.
