Varied indicators were applied for the determination of water alkality. The results showed that the mixed indicator of phenolphthalein with alizarin red-methyl red had the best effect, the phenolphthalein and methyl orange followed, the mixed indicator of thymol blue-cresol red with bromocresol green-methyl red was bad. So the mixed indicator of phenolphthalein with alizarin red-methyl red could be used as the new indicator for the alkalify water determination.
