The language of a people determines its thought pattern and culture, and conversely the thought pattern and culture become a paradox of the language itself, which is a challenging problem in translation studies. This paper attempts to analyze an American magazine's amendments to an academic paper of electrochemistry contributed by a Chinese scholar, and approach a new way of C/E translation from the gaps of the two peoples between their languages, thought patterns and cultures.
