The construction and feature of the take-up device of the belt conveyor commonly used in China cannot meet the operation demand of underground coal mine. Therefore an automatically controlled hydraulic take-up device is developed. It switches the belt tention from start-up stage to the stage of normal operation rationally and automatically. All electric elements conform to the explosion-proof requirement. The prototype of the device has been tested at site and passed the technical examination. Operation in several mines for more than one year shows excellent technical feature and economic effect.
