周辛铄论略

On Zhou Xin-shuo

清末,出身耕读世家的新化籍志士周辛铄在国难日亟的情势下,先是奉行教育救国主义,毁家兴学,继而奔走反清革命,因积劳成疾而英年早逝。周辛铄对近代湖南内地的教育勃兴功不可没,同时也是一位重要的革命活动家,在辛亥革命志士群体中具有举足轻重的地位。

During the late Qing Dynasty, as the nation was in serious crisis, Zhou Xin-shuo, who was born in a rich feudal-gentry family, held developing education could save the country, and established some new schools; then he devoted himself to the anti-Qing Revolution, and died in his early age for it. So he was a very important character of modern education and in the 1911 Revolution .
