To introduce the control principle of X-R control chart, and use the principle to control the temperature of coal gas heating furnace. The collecting fundamental of furnace temperature data and grouping situation are expounded. The control ambit and center line of the furnace temperature are calculated by practical example, the X-R control chart is plotted, the criterion of controlled furnace temperature and settlement method of abnormal furnace temperature are given, which give an alarm in furnace temperature control.
