中国古代名物学初论

A Probe Into Chinese Ancient Thingology

名物为有客体可指,关涉古代自然与社会生活各个领域的事物,其名称亦皆为我国古代实有或见诸典籍记载的客体名词。名物学是研究与探讨名物得名由来、异名别称、名实关系、客体渊源流变及其文化涵义的学科。中国古代名物学是以语音与语义关系的探讨而发轫的,名物学在魏晋以降多学科加入的形势下,语言学方法依然为其基础。名物研究是国学中的重题,历来受到我国学者的重视。当代中国古代名物学研究的沉寂同中华崔嵬丰美的名物文化以及历代成果辈出的名物研究盛况是很不相称的。本文似为学界首篇关于中国古代名物学学科特点及其研究领域与方法之论。

Things and systems are all the matter with object concerning all the fields of ancient nature and social life, which also mean entitative terms in ancient China or recorded in many literatures. Thingology is the subject analyses and it discusses the sources of things and systems definition, different names and another names, the relationship between form and substance, the original change of matter, as well as the meaning of culture. Chinese ancient thingology started from the discussion of phonetic and semantic relationship. Since Wei and Jin Dynasties, with the development of multiple subjects, linguistics was still the basis of thingology. Things and systems research is an important subject in Sinology, which always attract the attention of Chinese scholar. The current research of Chinese ancient thingology is so bleak that which cannot be compared with Chinese prosperous things and systems culture. This paper is the first article in academe to discuss the subject characteristic of Chinese ancient thingology and its researching field and methodology.
