摘要
宗白华在上个世纪三四十年代从中国“启蒙救亡”和世界“现代性精神危机”与“浮士德难题”现代解决的目的出发，对中西文化进行了比较研究，深入开掘并创造性地阐释了以“道(气)”宇宙观念、中国礼乐文化和中庸思想为核心的中国文化的美丽精神。中国传统文化经宗白华这一发掘性研究和现代化转换不仅显示出它的优势和强大生命力，同时，对世界文化的未来发展和处于现代化进程中的中国精神文明建设，以及全面建设小康社会目标的实现都具有现实意义。
In an aim to contemporary annotation of enlightening & saving the nation from extinction thoughts in China and of modernistic spirit crisis as well as Faust puzzle in the world, Zong Baihua gave a relative study on both Chinese and occident culture in 1930s and 1940s, opening out deeply and explaining initiate fine spirits of Chinese culture based on Weltanschauung of Dao(道), Li(礼)& Yue(乐) tradition and mean thought. His study not only shows the predominance and mighty life force of Chinese culture but also has practical significance on the development of cosmopolitan civilization and on the spirit - civilization construction as well as the realization of Xiao Kang(小康)(correspondingly perfect living condition)cause in China.
