Human Civilization and Animal Protection——the Relation Between Human and Animal in China History

通过梳理中国历史上人与动物的关系,以及中国文化对于人与自然关系的看法可以发现,中国传统文化认为,人类是“天地之心”、“万物之灵”,负有“赞天地之化育”的职责。中国文化倡导“仁民爱物”,与自然和谐相处。在这些思想指导下,中国历史上一度出现了人与其他动物和谐相处的局面,而这些思想对于指导我们今天如何处理人与动物的关系也有重要参考意义。

This thesis discusses the relations between human and animals In China history and views on the relation between human and nature in respect of Chinese culture. In Chinese traditional culture, there is a viewpoint that humankind is'the heart of the universe','soul of everything in the world', and humankind bears the duty of'assisting heaven and earth in turning everything'.Chinese culture advocates loving all people and animals and coexistence harmoniously between human beings and nature.Under the guidence of these views, there used to be a peaceful coexistence between men and animals.Therefore there is still some point in the views concerning how to deal with the relations between men and animals.
