以德治国,建设与社会主义市场经济相适应的思想道德体系,其首要的任务就是从严治党和从严治政,激活党政官员的自律机制,强化官德建设,全面提升党员干部的道德素质。中国自古就有“为政以德”、“为官以德”的传统思想和有效措施,其中不乏可资借鉴之处,对于加强今天的为官之德与廉政建设具有重要现实意义。

In order to administer our country by ethics and set up an ethical system which is suitable with the socialist market economy, the first task is to administer our party and government strictly, activate the self-dicipline in cadres in our party and government, strengthen the construction of official ethices and promote the ethics level of all the party cadres in an all-round way. There are some traditional thoughts and effective measures in ancient China, from which we have much to learn for reference. This is extremely of significence to improve the ethics of our cardes and strengthen the construction of an honest government.
