摘要 随着互联网用户数量的急剧膨胀和网络应用的多媒体化,现有的网络技术平台已不能满足实际的需求。因此,作为下一代互联网核心技术的IPv6、QoS,以及与此有关的音/视频多媒体网络应用技术,成为世界范围的研究热点。欧盟信息社会技术计划(IST)进一步提出了电力线宽带通信(PLC)作为下一代互联网的网络承载平台,并于2002年设立6Power项目,立项研究基于PLC宽带网络的IPv6、QoS和下一代互联网的各种多媒体应用,旨在为下一代互联网的技术体系建立统一的标准,为欧洲居民提供经济实惠的宽带接入和下一代互联网配置方案,文中对此进行了介绍。 Following the high-speed increasing of the Internet users and the heavy demand for multimedia transmission,it is becoming more and more difficult to treat the real time signal under the basic structure of present network.Now the next generation Internet technology become the hot point of researching and developing around the world,IPv6,QoS,broadband access and audio & video applications are considered to be the kernel technology of the new generation Internet.To ensure new technology success in Europe,power line communication(PLC)technology was chosen by EU IST Program.PLC is considered as one of the most suitable broadband medium for the next generation Internet.6Power project,starting in 2002,is a project funded by EU IST Program,and based on broadband PLC.The main goal of the project is to contribute to the standardization activities of the next generation network prototypes,and to supply an affordable broadband access for European residents.The detailed content is introduced in the paper.
