The application of computer in information retieval opens up a new age of information production and consuming. In order to share informaton resource, to develop the multilingual information retrieval system is an important task laid in front of us. This paper systematically discusses the distinctive function, bright characteristics of multilingual information retrieval system in our country and the concrete method to achieve the system.
