朗达玛灭法后的一百多年间被称为黑暗时期，因为那是佛法失却的年代，大吐蕃国分裂成了四个并存的政权：当时后藏的亚泽王系；现在后藏阿里地区的阿里王系；前藏的拉萨王系和山南的亚陇觉阿王系。后来，阿里王系的势力继续向西扩张，拉萨王发展到了康区，亚陇觉阿王系则进入青海。

The paper discussed the origin,spread,inheritance and variaous schools of the Tibetan Buddhist,and the spread of secret religions and the rise and decline of various religious schoolds.
