The history of the window

窗的历史不仅仅体现了窗形式与材料的发展变化历程,更重要的是它体现着建筑技术以及社会审美倾向的变化。文章从窗的起源谈起,对中国古代建筑中窗的样式及其所体现的审美特征进行了分析;继而论述了中国现代建筑中窗的发展、变化,揭示了蕴于其中的建筑技术的发展和社会审美风尚的变迁。全文以未来窗的发展趋势作结,分析指出在先进科学技术与当代社会背景的影响下,窗的设计已经进入理性的阶段,技术与艺术的协调将成为未来窗的主要发展趋势。

The long history of the window not only demonstrates the development of its materials and design styles, but also reflects the change of the architecture technology and the social aesthetic trend. Starting from the origin of the window, this paper first analyzes the style and aesthetic value lying in the window of Chinese ancient architecture. Then, by investigating the development of the window in Chinese modern architecture, the paper further discloses respective technology advancement and social aesthetic ethos relevant to the window. In view of the application of the new technology and the strong social as well as culture influence from the modern society, the design of the window nowadays has entered the era of rational development. The harmony between the technology and the art has been highlighted in recent years and furthermore, it will continue to be the trend for the future.
