A modular system for capillary electrophoresis is described. In this system, a home-made LC U V detector was modified in its flow cell and is used as an on-column detector in capillary electrophorsis. The features of the detector are characterized in terms of noise and detection limit. Examples of mi-cellar electrokinetic capillary chromatographic separations are given.
